Do you ever notice that when you comment on blogs that a generic picture in a gray box appears instead of your actual photo? This gray box is actually called a Gravatar and when you sign up for one, your picture will appear instead of a gray box. Sounds nice enough, but how do you go about getting a Gravatar?

Hi I'm Jen: Wife to one great guy, mom to the best 3 crazies a woman could ask for and a business owner. My passion is to help women build and grow their online business, so they can have the flexibility to do the work they love while spending time with the people they love. Join in the conversation on my blog and learn how you can do just that!
Every month I am going to do an income report for Women Winning Online. Just like you my goal with my blog is to grow it both with followers and financially. I love income reports because they help hold me accountable, show me what I have accomplished and where I need to grow. In my income reports I will also include what worked and didn’t work during the previous month and my goals for the next month. My hope is that my wins, losses and lessons will help you on your blogging journey too!

Facebook ads are a puzzle, an enigma. One thing my clients often ask me about Facebook ads is this: “why am I not getting any leads from my Facebook ads?”
I get it. I have run a few Facebook ads that have not converted at all. Now there could be a lot of reasons why you aren’t seeing conversions from Facebook. It could be the time of day you are running the ads. It could be your ad budget or your group targeting might be off. It’s hard to know without digging down deeper into your ad.
Before examining those issues I would first take a look at common mistakes that are hurting your Facebook ad conversions. Check out the following five mistakes to see if they are hurting you before you even post your ad!
Have you thought about starting a blog but think you have missed your chance? Do you worry that blogging is dying? Or that there are too many blogs and one more can’t succeed in a crowded marketplace?
I have good news for you! Nothing could be further from the truth!
I too worried about starting another blog especially because I have two dead blogs under my belt. Did the world need another blog talking about blogging and online business? But I realized something. The world needs me and my unique voice to help other women in the world of online business. There are women out there that want my specific help.
Does that sound arrogant or what?! Here’s the even better news. The same is true for you. The world needs you and your unique voice. You are going to put a blog out into the world that changes people’s lives and impacts them. You are going to help people and serve them every day.
The world needs you too.
I am excited to share that Women Winning Online was nominated by Amanda May of Maple Alps, Erica of The Big Red Patch House and Sheena of Pop Goes Perfection for a Liebster Award! I feel honored to have been given this award by my peers!
What is a Liebster Award?
A Liebster Award is an award created by bloggers given to other bloggers in our community. The goal of the award is to introduce our followers to newer blogs on the internet. It’s a great way to work together and make the blogosphere a more fun place!
In part one of this post I shared five things I learned from two dead blogs. I shared with you my struggles and lessons I learned from having two very different blogs. In this post I would like to share with you six more ideas that I learned from these two blogs.
1. Blogging is Work
There is a common myth out there that blogging is easy. I think this is because looking at it from the outside is that it looks easy! Sit down on your comfy couch, write a few words and boom you are making thousands of dollars a month blogging.
How do you get more eyes on your blog or website? You have to market your them! Many times bloggers or website owners will think “If I build it they will come.” Unfortunately that’s not the case. The internet is a crowded place. To get your blog or website noticed you have to do things that will help you stand out from the crowd.
Enter marketing.
I love marketing. I love figuring out why people buy what they buy or follow some blogs but not others. I like to figure out whats triggers people into purchases. I think it is fun to create new ideas to attract people to my blogs.
I also know there are other people who hate marketing. It stresses them out or they find it annoying to have to deal with. Or they are overwhelmed with where to start when it comes to marketing their blog or website.
Do you have a marketing plan for your blog or website? Could it use some new ideas? Here are six fresh ideas to get you fired up about marketing your business!
“I don’t know how you do it. I don’t know how you work from home. I couldn’t do it. I would see the laundry that needs to be done. Or the kitchen that needs to be picked up. I would do those things instead of working.”
When I tell people that I work from home and have for over 10 years these are the comments I hear. My response? Actually it is harder for me to turn off my work and get the housework done. Just ask my husband. He will tell you all about it!
For most people working from home sounds like a dream. There are definitely perks that is for sure. I don’t have to sit in rush hour traffic. I can work in my sweatpants all day if I chose to (and some days I chose to!). I rarely ever put on makeup which is a nice bonus. When it is nice outside in the summer I can work on my deck. I live in Minnesota– I have to take advantage of those nice days! And one of my favorite bonuses of working from home is that I never have to put on shoes.
I first got my start with blogging back in 2007. I loved the mom coupon blogs and was eager to start one of my own. While I enjoyed writing that blog the time it took to do it and not make any money wore on me. That blog lasted about five months before I stopped writing it.
The next blog I created was more recent. I have worked in real estate my entire life. For the last nine years I have owned a company that has helped Realtors with their marketing. I have always had all these marketing ideas floating around so I decided to act on them. I started writing a blog simply titled Marketing Ideas for Agents. It felt so great to get these ideas out on my blog and share them with agents.
I look at the two blogs I created and I won’t call them failures, but they weren’t crazy successes either. I enjoyed writing both of them and then one day I didn’t. In light of starting over with a new blog I thought I would write about lessons that I have learned from two dead blogs.
Welcome to Women Winning Online! I am so glad you stopped by.
I am excited to share with you my new blog dedicated to women who want to earn an income online. Earning money online has been one of my passions for the last 15 years. I love the opportunity it provides for women to have the flexibility to work on our own terms. To earn an income while staying home with our kids. To earn an income so we can travel more. To contribute to our households without being stuck in a cubicle doing the 8-5 job.
This blog is dedicated to women who want more out of their work life. Women who want to serve and make a difference in the lives of others.
